When to Use Negative Keywords

Use negative keywords when your main search terms are generating unwanted results.

Example

I was tracking a brand name that happened to share the same name as a fictional location in a video game. That generated many irrelevant notifications.

Adding the game's name as a negative keyword filtered out those unwanted mentions while keeping legitimate brand discussions.
